Jamal is an 18years old teenage who attract all of Indian. When he join on a game Who Wants To Be A Millionaire which the winning prize is 20 million dollar. with his experiences when he was child, he could answer all of the question which is given by the host of game show. Because the host didn’t believe with Jamal’s smartness, Prem Kumar (The Host) report Jamal as a crime. He accused Jamal has tricked him.
In the interogeration process,Jamal get a lot of mal treatment from the police. Because Jamal think that he is not guilty,he explains how he can answer the questions. The interogeration start by a question from the police about how can Jamal knows about the name of world legend star? Jamal answered that when he was a child, a famous selebrity came to his town in Mumbai by a Helicopter. Remembered by his story,Jamal quickly goes to find his idol. In his memory he remembers when he waste water in the center of a farm.suddenly because of his brother crunning, Salim. Jamal locked on that toilet. Jamal keeps trying to escape from those toilet. He decided to escape from the toilet by sink himself to the sink hole. Finally he succeed get a photo of his idol with the idol’s sign on it,Amitha Bachan. But silently Salim stole that photo and sold that photo to the collector for getting money.
Companied by police, Prem Kumar also ask about how can Jamal answer “what is held in the right hand of Roma schulpture?” Jamal imagines his child experiences. When he was playing with his brother, it was began to have fight with considered of their mother’s death. After that incident ,they trying to escape to save themselves. On their escape,Jamal saw Roma statue and watched it carefully all of the statue,
Jamal has another reason to join the game show . it is for looking Latika, his first love which he has looked for a years. Jamal and Latika meet in Jamal’s escape caused by fight between Moslem and Hindu religion in their escape, Jamal and Salim, Latika took care by Maman, in a orphanage. In Maman’s nurture, Jamal forced to learn how to sing a song Even though his voice is bad, but in the contrary Salim forced to be a mafia by Maman. Knowing his brother would made into blind by Maman,Salim escape with Jamal who want to be hurted by Maman. When Jamal and Salim escape by took a train, Unfortunately Latika left behind and got caught by Maman’s apprentice. That is the time Jamal and Latika got separated.
Jamal asked the other question . That is about “Who is the person which pictured a 100 US $?”. There no one to believe that Jamal can answered that question. A tea seller could know the answer. Jamal told his experience with Salim. When he flang out from the train with Salim,he dropped around Taj Mahal.that time they started to work for the food by being a tour guide and do a pickpocket.there was a time when Jamal guiding the tourists,he got attracted by some Indian who wash their cars. so the bad idea came to him,he broke that car and stole parts of those tourist’s cars.but that idea is not as success as they think, he got caught by his victim and got mal treatment by the tourists. After that incident there was a tourist who care for him and gave him a 100 dollar,Jamal kept trying to find Alika,and in his adventure,he met a beggar and gave that beggar his 100 dollar.
Happy with that money,the beggar shouted at him that the figure who pitured on the money is Benjamin Franklin.
Jamal and Salim tries to looking for Alika,until they come in a brothel.And actually they find Alika works there.quickly they try to escape Alika.Until they come into a safe zone,suddenly Salim pointed a gun into Jamal.Jamal is very shock at that time.And be forced to left Alika for the second time.Since that time,he never sees Latika again.But he has not surrender to find his first lovewith different ways.
Until in some chance,Jamal works as phone operator in India,Jamal keeps trying to search for Latika’s Phone number.With his hard work,he finally found Latika.But, now, Latika has became a mistress of a big boss.
Finally because of his intelligent, he found a way about how to meet Latika.The way is by join Who wants to be a millionare game show,because Latika loves to watch this show.
After watching this Movie, we found a lot of morality message for us.For example we can study whenever or wherever we want.we can learn something by our life experience like Jamal do in this story. Another moral lesson is, we should not surrender to reach our dreams like Jamal do in the search of Latika
In our opinion, this story is well suited for everyone who is in the process of studying or in the process of reaching his/her dreams.because this movie keeps trying to give us some illustration about how a little boy could be survive in this hard world.this movie can motivated us drastically if you watch this enthusiasticly.
